Tip

Weather stripping
Start at the top of the doorframe and work down. You may need to cut the strips themselves, if that is the case, be sure to do this at the beginning, and marking it carefully.
Make sure that you position the nails about 2" from each of the ends. This prevents splitting, in addition you want to make sure that space the others about every 12".
Push the weather stripping against the door so that it compresses slightly along the entire length of the door. Compress too much, and you the door is not going to be able to close properly. This is a key step, and probably the single most important part of the operation.
After positioning and fastening the weather stripping, you are going to want to paint it to match the rest of the door. Just be sure that you do not paint the foam on the stripping as this could lead to damage of the stripping and making it no longer work.
