Abbott and Costello
"The Abbott and Costello Show" premiered on this date in 1952. Bud Abbott and Lou Costello made 52 half-hour films for television incorporating many of their best burlesque routines. Their original names were William Alexander Abbott and Louis Francis Cristillo. After their final film, Dance with Me, Henry (1956), Abbott and Costello went their separate ways.
William (Bud) Abbott and Lou Costello (born Louis Francis Cristillo) performed together as Abbott and Costello, an American comedy duo whose work in radio, film and television made them the most popular comedy team during the 1940s. Thanks to the endurance of their most popular and influential routine, "Who's on First?"— whose rapid-fire word play and comprehension confusion set the preponderant framework for most of their best-known routines—the team is, as a result, featured in the Baseball Hall of Fame. (Contrary to popular belief, however, the duo was not inducted into the Hall).

Recipe
Maple nut Cheese ball
1 (250 g) tub PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese Spread

2 cups KRAFT Old Cheddar Shreds

1/2 cup dried cranberries

2 tablespoons port wine

1/2 cup chopped pecans

1/4 cup maple syrup

DIRECTIONS

Mix cream cheese, Cheddar cheese, cranberries and wine until well blended; cover. Refrigerate at least 1 hour. Shape into ball or other desired shape just before serving; coat with pecans. Place on serving plate; drizzle with syrup. Serve with Christie Crackers and an assortment of cut-up fresh vegetables, such as carrot and celery sticks

Olive Pecan Spread
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 (5 ounce) jar sliced green olives, drained
1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
Mix together the cream cheese, olives and pecans in a bowl. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.
