Facts

 King Tut was born in 1343 BC in Amarna, and his birth name was Tutankhaten, meaning "the living image of Aten".

He was 9 years old when he became pharoah.

He was only 18 or 19 years old when he died, and the reason for his death

is still a mystery today.

The famous gold mask (left) that rested on the pharoah s mummy weighs ten kilos (22 lbs) and is made of gold.

Tut's marriage to his half sister produced two daughters who were stillborn.
