Seed Starter
Take a margarine tub, poke a few holes in the bottom, add moistened seed-starting mix, and sow your seeds following packet instructions. Use permanent marker on the side of the tub to help you remember what you’ve sown, and use the tub’s lid as a drip saucer.

Recipe
Ham & Cheese Strate
12 slices white bread, crusts removed
1 pound fully cooked ham, diced
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (about 8 ounces)
6 eggs
3 cups milk
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon ground mustard
/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Dash of cayenne pepper
1/4 cup minced onion
1/4 cup minced seeded green bell pepper
1/4 cup unsalted butter or margarine, melted
1 cup crushed cornflakes
Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish, then arrange 6 bread slices in the bottom. Top with the ham and cheese. Cover with the remaining bread slices.In a medium bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, black pepper, and cayenne. Stir in the onion and green pepper and pour over all. Cover and refrigerate for several hours or overnight. Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking,Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Pour the butter over the bread and sprinkle with the cornflakes. Bake, uncovered, until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean, 50 to 60 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
