Quote by~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Do not go where the path may lead.
Go instead where there is no path,
And leave a trail.

Fact.. Chocolate
Made from the beans of the cacao tree. The roasted kernel of the bean is combined with sugar and cocoa butter to make chocolate. The processed beans are ground and pressed to make chocolate liquor, cocoa butter, and cocoa powder. We know cocoa best as candy, which is not especially nutritious. It contains some caffeine, but it would take more than a pound of chocolate to equal the caffeine in one cup of coffee. The term "chocolate" originally referred to what we now call "hot chocolate." Explorer Hernan Cortes introduced the drink to Spain upon returning from Mexico in 1519. The Dutch were the first to make chocolate powder and the Swiss made the first milk chocolate in 1876.

Hosting a New Year's Eve party, do your guests a favor and offer nibbles that are as guilt-free as they are delicious. Here are some more ideas: Roll sliced, lean grilled steak or roast beef around a dab of jarred horseradish sauce and strips of red, orange and yellow bell peppers; fasten together with a toothpick. Top slices of cucumber with finely chopped smoked salmon and a dab of reduced-fat sour cream blended with minced red onion and capers. Wrap halved large sea scallops with prosciutto rather than the traditional (and fattier) bacon. Secure with a toothpick and broil on a baking sheet until cooked through, about 4 to 5 minutes.Buy raw shrimp and thread them on bamboo skewers. Then, cook them on the grill. http://www.twincities.com/ci_11302472

Tip
Garlic is an invaluable ingredient, that we all know. But all we see is that fleshy wet inside. With one smash of the knife, we rip off that skin and toss it -- out of sight, out of mind. But we shouldn't! Rather than throwing them in your green bin, use them to help flavor your next broth. Or, if you're a garlic fiend, make a broth where garlic is the main component.

Cleaning microwave
Heat 1/2 cup of lemon juice in the microwave for 3 minutes and then the lemon juice steam will clean the microwave off.
The smell emitting from boiling the lemon juice in the microwave gave the kitchen
a wonderful lemon smell that made it seem as if I had cleaned the kitchen with Pine Sol.
