What happen to Huckberry Finn

Mark Twain's classic book "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" would be published next month with every instance of the N-word replaced by "slave," a horde of readers, scholars and concerned people have spoken in outrage. Yet this is not the first time expurgated books have made their way to the public.

1/4 cup vegetable oil (canola or similar light-tasting oil)
1 large white onion, coarsely chopped
2 bay leaves
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 cup baby carrots

On a large platter, stir together flour, salt, and pepper
Dust the roast with the seasoned flour, then shake excess off
In a heavy ovenproof skillet or Dutch oven, heat the oil over medium heat until hot

Cover and place the skillet in the oven
Bake for 2 1/2 hours, then add the mushrooms and carrots
Continue cooking another 1/2 hour to 1 hour or until the roast is fork tender and the carrots are soft
While vegetables are cooking along with the roast, cook any noodles or grains you'd like to serve with the roast

Rosie the Riveter

Rosie the Riveter.
Rosie the Riveter was one of the most widely known personas of the 1940s. With her sleeves rolled up, hair in a kerchief, and a determined set to her jaw and eyes, Rosie had it all: beauty, sex appeal, and attitude.
In December 1941, almost 13 million women were at work. By February 1943, that number rose to 15 million, but there was a need for two million more women by early 1944. The jobs that needed employees were in war production plants and necessary civilian services, as both were essential to support the country. Until this time, millions of American women had never worked outside their homes.
