To keep cucumbers fresh longer, simply wrap each one in a paper towel or two.

Recipe
Homemade applesauce
3 lbs apples
4 strips lemon peel
4 tablespoons of lemon juice
3 inches of cinnamon stick (or 1/2 tsp of cinnamon)
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar (or more to taste)
3/4 cup water
1/4 teaspoon salt
Combine all ingredients in a large pot. Bring to a boil.
Lower heat and simmer for 20-30 minutes until desired consistency.You can process it if you want it smooth or mash some apple chunks with a fork or potato masher if you like it chunky.
