Non-Fried Rice
Ingredients are cooked in the micro-wave.
Cook 2 cups rice in 3 cups boiling water in the micro-wave on settings for your type of micro-wave. Or otherwise cook on high for about 10 minutes or until water has evaporated and rice is fluffy. Chop 1 onion, 2 rashers bacon into small pieces and cook between 2 pieces of paper towel in micro-wave on high until onion is see through and bacon is cooked. Place 1/2 cup of peas, 1/3 cup chopped capsicum and 1/2 cup corn into micro-wave safe dish and cook on high for about 10mins. Using a fork, wisk 1 egg and 1 tablespoon milk. Pour onto a plate and cook in micro-wave on high for about 1 minute or until egg is cooked. Chop cooked egg into small pieces. 2pounds pork boneless top loin
Vegetable oil
1/2cup all-purpose flour
1/4cup cornstarch
1/2cup cold water
1/2teaspoon salt
1egg
1can (20 ounces) pineapple chunks in syrup, drained and syrup reserved
1/2cup packed brown sugar
1/2cup white vinegar
1/2teaspoon salt
2teaspoons soy sauce
2medium carrots, cut into thin diagonal slices
1garlic clove, finely chopped
2tablespoons cornstarch
2tablespoons cold water
1medium green bell pepper, cut into 3/4-inch pieces
8cups hot cooked rice
1.Trim excess fat from pork. Cut pork into 3/4-inch pieces.
2.Heat 1 inch oil deep fryer or Dutch oven 360ºF.
3.Beat flour, 1/4 cup cornstarch, 1/2 cup cold water, 1/2 teaspoon salt and the egg in large bowl with hand beater until smooth. Stir pork into batter until well coated.
4.Add pork pieces, one at a time, to oil. Fry about 20 pieces at a time about 5 minutes, turning 2 or 3 times, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels; keep warm.
5.Add enough water to reserved pineapple syrup to measure 1 cup. Heat syrup mixture, brown sugar, vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon salt, the soy sauce, carrots and garlic to boiling in Dutch oven; reduce heat to low.
6.Cover and simmer about 6 minutes or until carrots are crisp-tender. Mix 2 tablespoons cornstarch and 2 tablespoons cold water; stir into sauce.
7.Add pork, pineapple and bell pepper. Heat to boiling, stirr constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute. Serve with rice.
Tips
Asthma being irritated by the mites in pillows, put pillow in tumble dryer on hot setting for 20 minutes, this will kill off the mites.
Instead of buying expensive garbage disposal deodorizer, throw in a few pieces of chopped lemon. Run hot water in the drain and turn on the disposal, letting it grind up the lemon. It freshens it and helps clean it too.
Wise to keep a small rug on the lino by a door with a window in it. The lino can get quite hot from the sun shining in and can burn feet quite badly.

I had to laugh about those Japanese names. Just this week I read about a Quebec couple who called their boys Brant Glacier and Logan Avalanche!
