Statues come alive

Statues come alive
street performers posing as statues. Some whistle when you pass by, some move when you give them money. Some do it as a career, others between jobs. But whatever the case, being a living statue takes guts, strength, creativity and yes, a good deal of exhibitionism.

On 15 April 1912 the SS Titanic sunk on her maiden voyage and over 1,500 people died. Fourteen years earlier, a novel was published by Morgan Robertson which seemed to foretell the disaster. Tips
For evenly round tops on nut bread and muffins, grease baking pans or
muffin cups on the bottom and only 1/2 up the sides. Do this and your batter will not cling to the sides of the pan instead of sliding back down.

Tenderize pot roast or stewing meat by using 2 Cups of hot tea as cooking liquid.

Wooden bicycles

These photos are from the Flickr pool of Harry Palangchao.

Wooden bicycles
Wooden bicycles can be found all over the world. These hand made bikes are often larger-scale scooters that you sit on. Made with whatever wood can be found, they use small wooden home-made wheels covered with discarded rubber rims. Forward movement depends on the rider pushing with their feet.
Gotta see more of these Look here please

Mid-men, the male versions of mid-wives, are called accouchers.
The distance that a place holder falls from a glass when it is lifted (you know, place holders sometimes get stuck to the bottom of a cold glass when you lift the glass) is called a bevemeter.

The device at the intersection of two railroad tracks to permit the wheels and flanges on one track to cross or branch for the other is called a frog.

Tip
Keep a bag of cat litter in the trunk of your car. Use it to add traction when you're stuck in ice or snow.
Preserve Flowers
The fragrance and beauty of freshly cut flowers is such a fleeting thing. You can't save the smell, but you can preserve their beauty by drying your flowers on a bed of cat litter in an airtight container for 7-10 days.

Uses for paper clips
Use to clip chip bags actually work better for closing bags because they hold them shut tighter.
Zipper Pull Replacement
Grab a large paper clip, spread it out until it's fairly straight, then stick it into the hole in the knob. The lock will release and you can then get into the bathroom.
Ode to a paper clip
Hello little paper clipJust sitting on the table.I could use your handy work.I know that you are able. You have a brassy appearance. You are the perfect height. It's great to see your happy smile

Fact
Facial hair grows faster than any other hair on the body.
Every day the average person loses 60-100 strands of hair.
Women’s hair is about half the diameter of men’s hair.
One human hair can support 3.5 ounces. That’s about the weight of two full size candy bars, and with hundreds of thousands of hairs on the human head.
The fastest growing nail is on the middle finger.
There are as many hairs per square inch on your body as a chimpanzee.

Tip
Citrus Zest.Don't even use or eat a piece of citrus without saving the zest, or rind (the peel, without the white 'pith'.) If there's no place for it in your recipe (though there probably is), simmer in a bit of water, or place in your garbage disposal and run for a minute with the hot water running.

Locks of Love

Locks of Love
Image from Picasaweb is by Andrew
Locks of love

Locks of love are the padlocks fixed by loving couples, on to a fence or a pole or metallic chain/string alongside some wall etc at a public place, to symbolize their eternal love. A couple would hang a padlock after inscribing their name or initials on it and throw the key away so that their love is locked forever. Some couple use two inter-twined locks, each lock bearing their name/initials. Besides lovers, often family members and close friends also put such locks at these places, to lock their relationship forever.

Tip
Try attaching extra hooks to your shower rod so that you it can hold a brush or act as a shower caddy or for bath toys. Another example of creating more storage space, while also organizing is how you can mount hooks on a wall, and hang different colored baskets from those hooks. Each basket could be assigned to a different member of the home, and that is where they keep their bath toiletries
